The formal awards ceremony was held on July 22, 2008 at Nortel Headquarters in Durham, NC.

Interview with JDarden moderated by RDU Toastmaster’s VP of Public Relations, 2008.

Q1. What is your current role and responsibilities in the area/district?

I am Area Governor for Area 51

Q2. What attracted you to rdu-toastmasters?

I was refereed to RDU Toastmaster by a friend after we participated in the ‘Taking the Stage’ program at Nortel.

Q3. What is your most memorable rdu-toastmaster experience?

My most memorable experience with RDU Toastmasters was seeing the growth of several members in just a few short months.

Q4. How has rdu-toastmasters helped you succeed in becoming an Area Governor?

RDU Toastmasters helped build my confidence and gave me a chance to network with other Toastmaster Clubs within the organizations.

Q5. As an area governor, what advice do you have for members in your home club of rdu-toastmasters?

The only advice I have for the members in my home club is to make the most out of each opportunity. You will only get out of Toastmasters what you put in. So, practice and prepare your speeches with care and do your very best.
